Johnson County
Day Supports
Programs include Day Service supports, Residential options, Sheltered Employment options, and Targeted Case Management.
Day Services model that provides clients with community employment options through “Goody Delivery” and “Sacks on Santa Fe.”
Programs include Day Service Supports, Residential options, Targeted Case Management, and Outpatient Therapy.
Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS)
Programs include Day Service supports, Residential options, Supported Employment options, Clinical supports, and Targeted Case Management.
JCDS is designated as Johnson County’s Community Developmental Disabilities Organization (CDDO). As the CDDO, JCDS operates as the single point of entry for those needing Developmental Disability services within Johnson County. Once deemed eligible, JCDS will assist candidates with their placement in a network of over 70 Johnson County Community Providers.

Employment
Disability Mentoring Day (DMD)
Annual event which seeks to address career discovery and exploration for individuals with disabilities. Typically held in both Johnson and Jackson County.
Jewish Vocational Services (JVS)
Employment services for individuals with disabilities, available in both Kansas and Missouri. JVS also has an Employment Program specifically designed for individuals with Autism.
Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS)
Among other services, JCDS assists individuals with disabilities to obtain community-based employment services in partnership with Kansas Vocational Rehabilitation (VR).
Job Accommodation Network (JAN)
Provides resources and accommodations for job seekers with disabilities.

Kansas Vocational Rehabilitation (VR)
Empowers Kansans with disabilities to successfully obtain community-based employment.
In order to receive employment services in the State of Kansas, applicants must first receive eligibility and approval from VR. Applications can be found on the Kansas Department of Children and Family website.***
Offers paid employment opportunities at Children’s Mercy Hospital specifically for individuals with disabilities. Project RISE also facilitates “Career Academy” classes aimed to promote career disovery and exploration for individuals with disabilites.
Employment model available through Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS). Eligible individuals participating in Project SEARCH will complete three unpaid internships at various businesses over a designated period of time, with the intent of generalizing those skills into successfully competitive employment.
Provides various Employment Services, Early Work Experience, Community Congregation, and Social Programming.
Non-profit ice cream & coffee shop that creates employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities.
Among other services, TWP assists individuals with disabilities to obtain community-based employment services in both Kansas and Missouri. TWP also facilitates an 8-week "Employ-Abilities" intensive designed to prepare individuals for jobs within the cooking and catering sphere.

Overnight Camp designed for youth on the Autism Spectrum.
Non-accredited continuing education classes held at Johnson County Community College for adults with disabilities.
Providing neurodiversity affirming socialization opportunities for neurodivergent adolescents in the community.
Non-profit art studio offering free workshops, camps, and classes for individuals with disabilities.
Fitness, health, and sports opportunities for Kansans with disabilities. Offers over 20 sports programs year-round.
Facilitates faith-based Respite Nights and Sunday gathering assistance through “Angel Care” program. “Sunflower Bakery” provides weekly opportunities to make a variety of baked goods.
Offers faith-based Respite Nights and Summer Day Camp programming.
Provides a variety of music therapy groups, classes, and workshops designed for youth with disabilities.

Financial Management Service (FMS) that assists Kansans with disabilities who self-direct their care through HCBS Waivers, specifically Frail Elderly (FE), Intellectual Developmental Disability (IDD), Physical Disability (PD), Technology Assisted (TA), and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Employment
Offers employment services through coordination with Missouri Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), including supported employment options, job training, and sheltered employment options.

Good People Cafe (GPC) will be opening in the spring of 2024 in Grain Valley, MO. It will exist to create a place, a passion, and purpose for all people through a cafe atmosphere that intentionally employs members of our local special needs community; provides a safe hangout for local teens; and houses a new worship alternative to traditional church.
Offers employment-related programs and services in the Greater Kansas City area, including Digital Skills Training for individuals needing computer-related training to successfully obtain employment.
